Need of Multicultural education

Essay
Need of Multicultural Education in India

Multiculturalism:
·     Multiculturalism is situation in which all the different cultural groups, religious, racial groups, cultural assumptions and values in a society have equal rights and opportunities, and none is ignored or regarded as unimportant.
·     In sociology, multiculturalism is the view that culture difference should be respected or even encouraged.

Multicultural Education:
·     Multicultural education refers to any form of education or teaching that incorporates the histories, texts, values, beliefs, and perspective of people from different cultural background.
·     Multicultural education, also defined as a way of teaching, promotes principles such as inclusion, diversity, democracy, skill acquisition, inquiry, critical thought, values of perspectives, and self-reflection.

India has 29 states, 7 union territories and their culture, lifestyle, festivals, dance, clothing, food and  22 scheduled languages Hindi, Marathi, Assamese, Bengali, Dogri, Bodo, Gujarati, Kannada, Kashmiri, Konkani, Maithili, Malayalam, Manipuri, Nepali, Odia, Punjabi, Sanskrit, Santali, Sindhi, Tamil, Telugu, Urdu. India is religiously and ethnically very diverse country in the world.

We can say that India is ‘unity in diversity’ that’s why to maintain this unity in diversity Multicultural education is important. Because now a days people dividing their parts of the society, they are trying to make their particular community superior and ruled another’s one. Eg, the Muslims believe that they ruled over India and Hindu’s believe that they ruled over India. Muslims thought their ancestors had built Red fort, Qutub Minar etc. and it were their ancestors who made the culture place by birth.

The North Indians and south Indians are racially different. The North Indians probably are Aryans, they without any substantial evidence and The Indus civilization was destroyed by invading Aryans who were then defeated by Muslim invaders.

Firstly we know, we have various cultures and we all respect it. But now a days we fought religious wars, and disturb India’s unity culture.
Education about multicultural is important because culture can be described as  through processes, belief systems and behavioral patterns of a community, give them to by previous generations. Every Culture is different for different community, it is the nature of the people, who have developed a particular view according to their perspective of living shaped by their geographical and social environments.

Language is the medium to express of all things expand through communicating among members of the community and changing the culture focus. Language is also a culture its specific to a particular community, language also represents culture. Language helps people of the community to establish, assert and maintain their identity as individuals and as a group, bringing among them a sense of solidarity.

It is very difficult task to educate students about multicultural because teachers also came from the same society where religious war happening today’s era. But though teachers taking efforts and representing different religions, castes, creed, lifestyle, language, food culture and many more things which helps to student educate about multicultural and they think about it to maintain it in our society.

So, when schools, colleges faculty member as well as students take responsibility about multicultural education and they start studying about it seriously then after we can face more complex social, cultural, religious problems which actually created by us. Multicultural education is not only need of India but also necessity of Indian education system. Only because of that we can maintain ‘unity in diversity’ in India.

The immigration of the Nepalese and their rapid expansion has created a serious problem for the original inhabitants the Lepchas and bhutias. The Nepalese are not only multiplying more rapidly in numbers but are also ahead in education which enables them to go jobs in government. While the Lepchas and Bhutias still prefer the traditional education in the monasteries, the Nepalese end their children to schools. the Lepchas and Bhutias  are averse to cultivate waste lands. Nepalese plant maize which grows in abundance and is their staple food. The Nepalese children work from the age of five and when they are ten years of age are able to earn more than they consume.
Their style of living is comparatively much economical. Their dress and diet are simple. They do not spend much money on marriage and festival. on the other hand, tyhe Lepchas and Bhutias take rice with meat, if possible. Their dress is expensive. “Poets define any Culture well” Says Ravi Korde

Aurangabad,18 February,2018: City based writer bags prestigious Sahitya Academy Yuva award winner Ravi Korde, he got this precious award for “Dhoosar Zale Naste Gav” (Poetry). “Poem is the voice of those people who does not raise their voice against their problems and sorrows”, Ravi Korde said. Poem is collection of different culture and surrounding, Poem is the simplest and expressive way to express ones thoughts.
Ravi korde said, “During school days I wrote poems for interschool competition. I love Marathi books, so I started reading it seriously. In college life I got what actually a poem is and its seriousness. After that I started to read poetry books, and then I realized poem is very serious thing. It is a very broad concept. “Poem is straight but now narrow”, Ravi Korde said.
Literature is an only medium which connects people heart to heart. Poetry makes people sensitive. It works to maintain values of society. Poetry has that much strength to kill enemies of humanity. “Now a days’ we don’t respect ones emotions and feelings but poem gives life to a stone, wall, even hardest rock”, Ravi Korde said.
Poems never die. And whenever we read poem, every time it gives new angle, new vision, new start to see the world again. When we write poem, we use new words and that’s why after every poem we make it more rich by words and powerfully by meaning.

When asked to Ravi korde, that whether all the poets or Author are pressurized, he answered, “may it be a poet or an author after all he or she is a common person, so obviously they are pressurized by society. Now a days if a poet writes against any wrong, bad thing or raise voice, suddenly any party or some bully pressurized by their threat. Now days we go through very difficult mentality of society. And it’s very harmful to not only people but also for poetry culture. There was a time when people respected each others thoughts and opinion of poets and an authors but now it’s hard to express. But though there are poets and authors who face this problem and doing their duty.

The streets are littered and many places are dumped with garbage into the city. A major part of the landmasses of the city are dumped with garbage that is left indisposed. This shows the inefficiency and negligence of both the AMC as well as the residents of Aurangabad, in matters concerning the disposal garbage.
The municipal corporation which dumps garbage at Naregaon During Yard for the last 30 years is over utilizing the facility. In the absence of an alternative place the corporation continues to dump about 150-160 truck loads of garbage everyday in the yard, leaving litter room for additional waste.
